So? What did you do??? Did you let it go, or remove the coach??

Shipping shouldn’t go up significantly for each additional item.

I don’t have this year’s sign-out sheets, but I do have last years. Most of the equipment from last year has been dealt with. Just a couple left. After this, I will leave it up to Grant to police the gear and let me know who I need to invoice.

I suggest we buy 10 sets and see if he can give us a good deal. We owe 5 sets to new umpires, and 5 for inventory.

          Update:

They are completely out of the long peak and short peak flex fit hats. The only hat now is a fitted combo peak hat and they are $27.99 each.

They also only have windshirts left in sizes large to XXL and they are $22.50 each.

It is confirmed now that all Round 1 games for U14 and older are 1hr 30mins.
I believe it was this case a few years ago, and I don’t know why it was changed.

As in another post, all U14 Competitive Round 1 games are 5 run max, and not 4 runs as per Div 1 in the Rulebook.

I am not aware of any more deviations from the CMSA Rulebook. Keep those questions coming.

I don’t believe that anything changed, but I am not sure. The handbook is available electronically, and Jim Portman will have extra hard copies when you see him next..

                The 2015 version is at:

U17 boys team will play within the U19 girls league
U14 boys team will play within the U16 girls league

Remember that boys are NOT allowed to leap or hop when pitching. They have to point and drag their foot just like the girls. First time, it’s a warning, second time it’s an illegal pitch (ball on the batter and all runners advance 1 base); every instance after that is another illegal pitch.

All Leagues including U14 Competitive: (Send to all coaches)

A reminder that ALL LEAGUE GAMES will be played by Calgary Minor Softball Rules.
                    ALL Players will BAT!
You can play ABC Rule or Universal Rule – NOT REGULAR SUBSTITUTION
You CANNOT sit girls out – No matter what!

We may be asking for score sheets and line up cards to be sent into the office, make sure you keep them.

Bottom Line – Play by the rules set out by the league! No Rules are to be changed unless approved by the league!

Hi Pierson. If you need to return an accepted game back due to a conflict, please e-mail umpirerequest@calgaryminorsoftball.com or reply to your reminder e-mail. Please include the reason why this happened, and if there is something we can do to avoid it happening again [i.e. a different location, better calendar management, etc.]. Be honest about it. If you got last minute tickets to the Flames playoff games, then of course you will need to go to that. πŸ™‚

Please try to limit this scenario to rare/urgent scenarios as turning back accepted games will cause the assigner extra work and someone will likely have to accept an assignment without any lead time. This should happen no more than twice a year.

When you do find a conflict, please let us known as soon as you know about it, and don’t leave it until the last minute. If you are feeling ill and not sure if you will be able to cover your game, it is best if you tell us ahead of time of that chance than waiting until the last minute to let us know.

                      Cheers

                      Geoff

Now that the first week of assignments are pretty well been done, I just want to remind everyone the importance of keeping their calendar up to date and getting back to Annmarie as quickly as possible.

The first week is always the toughest each season. I’m glad we have the new umpires this year to help us out! I look forward to them getting their first few games in and seeing how much fun umpiring truly is.

If anyone hasn’t ready my above post, it is VERY important to understand the issue here. Automating the assigning ONLY works if we ALL do our part. The system can either work FOR us or AGAINST us. I would hate to see us ever revert back to a manual system of picking up the phone for every assignment.

If you have ANY questions about Arbiter or the assigning process, please post them.

                        Cheers

Thanks for bringing this up Mark. There is no difference during Round 1, as you noted. Once we see how well the play is we will decide at the end of Round 1 what rules will be played for Round 2.

Likely for U16 there will be Div 1 rules for Div 1 (unlike last year), because we have brought in some of the Elite teams into CMSA this year.

                          Stay tuned here for updates!

Yes, I will prepare a large order prior to Blues Tournament this year. Stay tuned for more info..

The Navy Blue Shirt and Grey Pants are still only an “Alternative” uniform, and not a replacement for powder blues. If you plan on doing big tournaments, the it would be good to have. You don’t need it for local ball or most provincials.

As for the new jacket, it replaces the old jacket at all Canadian Championships. Will it ever get replaced? Sure. But not in the foreseeable future. Same answer. The old jacket is fine for local and provincial tournaments. It is only required for Canadian Championships.

I’d wait to see how people like the new jackets vs the old jackets before buying one. Maybe the old jackets are better for cold nights..

                                  I see HR has a “Diamond DCP-iX3 CXTU 14” $119.99

                                  http://www.homerunsports.info/diamond-dcpix3-cxtu-p-28422.html

But I also see there is an UMP one with more arm protection on other sites

                                  Examples:

IS this the one you are talking about?
