Rule Question – Hit by Pitch

      Had a good question by an umpire yesterday.

      Is a batter required to take a base if hit by a pitch? What about super young players?

      Also, if a player is hit by a pitch but doesn’t move, do they get the base??

      Discuss away….

        Apparently with U10’s they will let them continue to bat if they want but all other divisions the go to 1st. The little ones tend to freeze when they see the ball coming at them. I consider them to have tried to get out of the way if they blink. I’m very lenient with the younger kids.
