No new items to add from the Executive for the Clinic / Recruitment?
What about a “Meet the Umpires” open house. Set a 4 hour time slot on a weekend, and drop by and meet the umpires and ask questions. Perhaps we can have pizza or Hot Dogs/Hamburgers?
I had this idea as one of the baseball organizations has an “in-person” registration time-slot. Maybe target people on the fence who want to meet us before committing and signing up.
Anyone want to organize something like this? I can’t do everything (and neither should Portman).
March 7, 2016 at 10:50 am #74077Another “idea” is we should invest in a large banner for the Umpire Changing area, with some recruiting info on it.
Yes, we don’t want an open door for players/coaches to come bitch. [for that matter, how many coaches would want to risk being outnumbered and not in their comfort zone. If they are that ticked, no sign is going to stop them]
What would this sign say? Want it nice and large, and to the point. Basically open the door to anyone who wants “talk to us” about being a potential umpire.
Thoughts?
March 7, 2016 at 10:56 am #74081Topic moved from Private Executive Area to Public area. We need more input and involvement from other CMSUA members. Recruitment can’t be left to 1 or 2 people in the association, it is way too important..
